My Tho city planted 875,000 flower baskets for Lunar New Year 2017

The flower village in My Tho city planted over 1000,000 flower baskets for Lunar New Year 2017, an increase of 200,000 flower baskets in comparison with the same previous last year.

These flowers are traditional flowers such as raspbery daisy, Netherland daisy, marigold, etc… In particular, the flower growers farmer also planted lily and auspicious flower to meet the need of market. According to the flower growers in My Phong flower village, the prices of many flowers on this year can be increased from 10 percent to 20 percent in comparison with the last year because of erratic weather as well as the price of materials, plant protection products, labor costs increased.

 

According to the Economic Chamber of My Tho City, this year, the Department has also supported flower growers some new fruits and vegetables variety to experiment  as ornamental distillation such as strawberries, marble tomato, etc...

 

At once, the Economic Chamber also has monitored closely the situation in the growing flowers region to help flower growers when they meet difficulties, actively searching many markets to expand outlets for farmers.
