To strengthen linking of tourism development in the Mekong Delta

As reported at the conference of summarizing linking of tourism development of provinces of the eastern cluster in Mekong Delta region in year 2016 and implementing the program of year 2017, which was held at Tien Giang province, in year 2016, provinces of the cluster including Tien Giang province, Long An province, Ben Tre province, Tra Vinh province, Vinh Long province and Dong Thap province have received nearly 7.8 million visitors, increasing of 11.37 percent in comparion with the previous year, including more than 1.4 million international visitors, increasing of 19 percent in comparion with year 2015.

Revenue from tourism in the cluster reachs 2.774 billion VND, increasing of 20 percent in comparion with the previous year. Dong Thap province has the highest number of visitors with 2.5 million passengers and Tien Giang province is the leading province with the number of international visitors as 602,062 visitors. 

In year 2017, provinces in the eastern cluster of Mekong Delta region will continue to implement programs to develop tourism linking with important contents such as: To link as well as exchange experiences of state management of tourism, linking on tourism development planning, calling for investment in projects to develop tourism and tourism products,... To strive for tourism growth of provinces in cluster from 12 to 14 percent compared with year 2016.
