Ten new models of cooperatives to pilot

Tien Giang Department of Agriculture and Rural Development said that in the period 2016 - 2020, the province has selected 10 cooperatives in the field of rice and fruit trees to pilot and duplicate the new cooperative model.

This aims at concretizing the project of "To pilot perfectly and duplicate the model of new cooperatives in the Mekong River Delta in the period of 2016-2020". Of which, five cooperatives in the field of rice include My Trung agricultural service cooperative, My Quoi agricultural production service cooperative (in Cai Be District); Binh Tay agricultural trading cooperative, Binh Nhi rural services cooperative (in Go Cong Tay district), My Thanh agricultural cooperative (in Cai Lay district). Five cooperatives in the field of fruit trees include Hoa Loc cooperative, My Luong agricultural service cooperative (in Cai Be District), Ngu Hiep Durian cooperative (in Cai Lay district), My Tinh An Dragon cooperative (in Cho Gao district) and Quyet Thang agricultural cooperative (in Tan Phuoc district).

Accordingly, the province will support the selected cooperatives to pilot and expand the training to improve management capacity, production, business managers, to train, build the capacity of scientific and technical staff, support for the pilot model of young cadres graduated from universities and colleges working on time in cooperatives.

In particular, the province helps to improve the quality of products, develop the model of production linkage and promote the expansion of the market of agricultural products while supporting the improvement of infrastructure for agricultural production at many cooperatives. To achieve the above objective, Tien Giang province will mobilize over VND30.6 billion to invest in building and duplicating the new cooperative model in agricultural and rural development in 2017-2020 period.
