Tien Giang to export the first batch of star apple to the US market

The Tien Giang province Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has just held a meeting with the participation of representatives of relevant departments and agencies to discuss the detailed plan of exporting the first batch of star apple to the US on December 26. It is an important event to attract farmers in the province, especially farmer planted star apple.

Before the event of exporting of fresh star apples from Vietnam into the US market, Tien Giang province is carrying out procedures for export, especially investment recovery, planting new star apple gardens. In order to export the first batch of star apple to the United States on December 26, farmers and businesses have joined with effort to produce 43 pilot hectares star apple in Huu Dao commune, My Long commune, Long Hung commune and Ban Long commune. Farmers applied strict cultivation techniques, being terested in food hygiene and safety requirements such as: Registration of production certificates under Global GAP or Vietnamese GAP, fruit packaging,... Particularly, the purchasing enterprises must have preliminary processing, packaging, post-harvest management meeting food hygiene and safety requirements.

With careful preparation of the source of star apple to meet the export requirements of the US market, the ceremony on December 26 will be solemnly held with a total of 150 participants, including Representatives of Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Department of Agricultural Product Processing and Development, Department of Plant Protection, Center for Plant Quarantine after Import 2, leaders of Tien Giang province, neighboring provinces, typical star apple farmers, enterprises in and outside the province, etc… to mark the important event, encourage and promote the expansion of the export market of star apple in particular and fruit in Vietnam in general.
