Surveying to open location for the Tien Giang - Vung Tau high-speed train
On January 23, leaders of the Tien Giang People’s Committee (PPC) including Chairman of the PPC Le Van Huong, Deputy Chairman of the PPC Tran Thanh Duc and leaders of some provincial departments had a meeting with representatives of Greenlines DP company to open a ticket selling point and a picking up guest point in Tien Giang province.

At the meeting, after listening Greenlines DP company’s presentation about starting operations of the Tien Giang-Vung Tau high-speed train and vice versa, Chairman of the PPC Le Van Huong asked the Tien Giang Department of Transport and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to consider and create favorable conditions for the company to soon start operations.
In the short term, the province will temporarily let the company open ticket selling points and boarding guest at the My Tho tourist station. He also suggested the company should actuallly survey to know the flow of passengers, peak hours at the My Tho tourist station for investing in the right and effective direction.

After the meeting, Deputy Chairman of the PPC Tran Thanh Duc and leaders of Greenlines DP company surveyed My Tho tourist station. According to a survey conducted by the Greenlines DP company, it is not possible to open a high-speed train from My Tho to Vung Tau in the immediate future but open a high-speed train from Ben Tre- Tien Giang-Vung Tau and vice versa. Besides opening a ticket selling point in Ben Tre, the company will book tickets in Tien Giang by online.
In the meantime, the company will pick up guests at the 2nd wharf of boat of My Tho tourist station. In the long term, the company will officially lease and open office, build a wharf to pick up guest for the unit in Tien Giang province as well as officially open the high-speed train to Vung Tau-Tien Ging in the earliest time.
If the Tien Giang - Vung Tau high-speed train starts officially operations, tourists will only take more than 2 hours instead of 4 hours by road.
