Department of Agriculture and Rural Development inspects the water situation for production

ABO - Tien Giang Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (DARD) has just inspected the water situation for production in the Freshening Go Cong project.

On the winter-spring crop 2017- 2018, the Freshening Go Cong project  has a total area of 26,800 hectares. Most of the area has cut water and waited for harvesting, including 8,000 hectares harvested. Expected to March 15, the whole project area will cut water of over 19,500 hectares, the remaining 7,300 hectares will cut water on March 25.

Through the actual survey of water sources in the Xuan Hoa, Rach Bun sewer, the main canals such as Tham Thu, Tran Van Dong and some areas of late winter-spring rice in the areas located far from the water source, it showed that the area of these rice was in the period of flowering. The water on the main canals, the canal fields were quite plentiful so these areas would not be affected.

However, according to Tien Giang Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the season is now on the dry season so that farmers need to continue to maintain the water source in the production process. In areas with abundant water resources, it is absolutely not to produce the fourth crop.
