Price of sand is stable, steel's price continues to increase

According to our records, in My Tho city , the price of construction sand is VND 170,000/m3, filled sand is VND 120,000 VND/m3. Director of Tu Loi Private Enterprise Tran Van Cuong in Tan My Chanh commune, My Tho city said: "Although it is stabilized, the price of construction sand and filled sand are still higher than the beginning of 2017 about VND 60,000/m3. But in general, this price is still acceptable.

If the price of sand is stabilized, the steel prices are still rising and there are no signs of stopping. According to our records, in 2017, the "escalated" steel prices made many contractors difficult. This year, the steel price continues to increase so it is more difficult for contractors.

At some building materials shops in My Tho city, the price of steel coil 6, 8, 10 from VND15,700 to VND16,000 /kilogram, a steel sheet with VND17,500/kilogram.

According to the business world, domestic steel prices increased due to the impact of world steel prices and partly as well as an increased demand in the construction season.

Director of Minh Trang private enterprise Pham Minh Khang said that: "Currently, all kinds of steel (tree, sheet, coil) are increasing. In large construction projects, the demand for steel sheets is very high but the supply of steel plates is very limited. The steel price continue to increase so we have to be very cautious in executing works due to the high level of risk.

In Tan Phuoc district, Kim Ngan private enterprise (Phuoc Lap Commune) also said that the price of iron sheets currently increased about VND3,000-4,000 VND/m2 in comparison with the time before Tet.

However, according to the above basis, many new people just study the price as well as many new works just in the start of the period so the iron sheets will increase strongly from February to April lunar month.

The construction season is starting with many works started to promote the market of building materials exciting day by day. Many initial signals showed that construction demand this year will increase in comparison with 2017.
