According to Tien Giang Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, dragon fruit is growing strongly in the province. In addition to Cho Gao and Tan Phuoc districts, the eastern districts are planning to make dragon fruit as a main crop plants in locality, especially in areas that are not favorable for producing other crops. For the output of dragon fruit, enterprises invested more equipment processing fruit as well as entered the market difficult for actively seeking export opportunities.

On a meeting to discuss about development dragon fruit chaired by the Tien Giang provincial People Committee (PPC), Chairman of the PPC Le Van Huong asked the branches and localities to coordinate, firstly concern about dragon fruit value chain project and reorganize suitable production as well as recommend and support dragon fruit farmers in accordance with GAP standards, to promote linkage production.

In addition, it is necessary to research transport infrastructure, irrigation, storage infrastructure, science and technology and trade promotion in oder to aim at developing dragon fruit quality and sustainability.
