Aquaculture output scales up 2.3 percent in the first quarter
ABO - Aquaculture output in the first quarter of 2018 totalled 54,470 tonnes, up 2.3 percent from the same time last year, as estimated by the Tien Giang provincial People's Committee. In particular, the harvested output totalled 32,538 tons (up 3.3% over the same period).
The price of Tra fish was about VND30,000/kg and farmers got high profit. As forecast, the output will be increase in 2018 to supply the export market.

Tien Giang Deparment of aquaculture carried out four environmental monitoring Tra fish farming and concentrated variety production areas, ensuring timely information for people; supervising re-certify VietGAP on float fish and assisting Tra fish farming households in checking and evaluating VietGAP re-certification in the west.
Deparment of aquaculture organized environmental monitoring shrimp and float fish twice a month in the east and west, monitoring oyster raising areas with frequency of three times per week. At the same time, the sector noticed for oyster raising and recommended the time for brackish shrimp farming in 2018 for the people in the east.
