Tien Giang province has 93,281 hectares of perennial plant
ABO – According to the Tien Giang province People’s Committee, the whole province has 93,281 hectares of perennial plant, up 4.8% over the same period (of which, 74,935 hectares of fruit trees, up 3.7% over the same period, mainly increased in 1,283 hectares of dragon fruit, 1,190 hectares of pineapple, 340 hectares of sapoche and 377 hectares of grapefruit, etc…). The yield of perennial plant was estimated at 296 thousand tones.

Thanks to the suitable layout of ecological and soil conditions, the province formed many speciality fruit growing areas which have contributed greatly to the increase of production efficiency, at the same time, the province promoted specific steps to help these fruit plants to be issued collective trademarks.
In addition, the Tien Giang provincial People's Committee has implemented two value chain projects in the western region: "To develop a value chain linked production and consumption of durian in Tien Giang province in the period of 2018-2020 and orientation to 2025 "and “A value chain development of Hoa Loc mango in Cai Be district in period 2018-2020 ".
The province is completing the project of implementing dragon fruit value chain in Tien Giang province in period 2017-2020, with a vision to 2025 for the center areas, continuing to monitor and guid farmers to follow technical steps in the trial of restoration and replanting of new star apple in the central regions, the accumulation exported 53 tones of star apple.
