The Vam Lang storm shelter project needs VND 150 billion for investment

ABO – Being constructed in 2015, the Vam Lang storm shelter project for fishing vessel combined with Vam Lang wharf has made initial changed in infrastructure of this area. However, the process of building the project met many difficulties because the storm shelter zone was deposited by sediment.

According to the report of the Go Cong Dong district People's Committee of and the Tien Giang Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, after dredging the channel from 2012, the anchorage area secured about 300 fishing vessels to avoid storms efficiently. At present, this channel is facing sedimentation which makes it difficult for boats to refuel, food.

The Go Cong Dong district People's Committee recommends departments of Tien Giang province to support research solutions to implement the project because the capital for calling for investment is more than VND150 billion. Currently, the project only is implemented the wharf’s construction and the path so items are not synchronized.

The project of Vam Lang storm shelter for fishing vessels combined with Vam Lang wharf  has an area of about 40 hectares including anchorage, shelter for fishing vessels, at the same time, it contributes to improve the fishery infrastructure and to create favorable conditions for fishing activities.
