The total number of tourists reached 954,000 in first six months

ABO – According to the Tien Giang provincial People’s Committee, the total number of tourists reached 954,000 in first six months 2018, up 12.0% over the same period, including the number of international visitors as 316,000, up 8.8% over the same period. The total revenue was estimated VND 567 billion, up 26% over the same period, reached 62% in comparison with the plan.

Implementing the Resolution No.11-NQ/TU of the Provincial Party Committee on tourism development to 2020 and orientation to 2030, the results achieved such as:

* In the central region:

+ Investing in infrastructure, upgrading and expanding bridges and roads linking tourist sites and sites in the region; strengthening the environmental sanitation, planting trees, flowers along the road, installing lighting system art ... on the island of Thoi Son; continuing to set up Thoi Son island tourist infrastructure investment project in 2018-2020 period; speeding up the implementation of the project of Thoi Son islet.

+ Making the plan of the special Rach Gam - Xoai Mut relic site in association with conservation and development of tourism to connect Thoi Son - Rach Gam - Xoai Mut - Dong Tam snake farm - Vinh Trang pagoda; Co-ordinating with Ben Tre province to formulate a master plan for the Thoi Son island tourist site.

* In the West region:

+ Deploying the National Fruit Park Project; Implementing the scheme on preservation and promotion of Cai Be floating market in the 2017-2020 period and orientations to 2025; organizing summing up the festival of cultural tourism of the Dong Hoa Hiep village in the third time in 2017, bringing into play the achievements to attract tourists to the Dong Hoa Hiep ancient village; to consolidate and develop tours, new tourist routes,... linking tours with businesses in the Tan Phong island (Cai Lay district), Binh Hoa Phuoc district (Vinh Long province); to develop a detailed plan for tourism development in Tan Phong island, Cai Lay district.

+ Supporting the Tien Giang Union Tourist Co., Ltd to cooperate to exploit Dong Thap Muoi ecological preservation zone in association with the Truc Lam Chanh Giac monastery for tourism development; coordinating 3 provinces in the Dong Thap Muoi sub-region with Ho Chi Minh city organized a survey mission with more than 40 participants surveyed to build tours, links tourism development in the Dong Thap Muoi sub-region.

* In the East region:

+ Supporting Go Cong town to restore, embellish historical cultural relics, to expand the Truong Dinh temple, the Royal Mausoleum; connecting tours, tourist routes to contribute to implement the project of tourism development Go Cong town in the period of 2013-2015 and orientation to 2020; planning the Con Ngang islet tourism zone, Tan Phu Dong district to call for investment in tourism development.
