Building a new countryside because of farmers

ABO - On August 22, the Tien Giang provincial People's Committee (PPC) held a meeting of the Steering Committee to implement the national target program to build new rural in the Tien Giang province in 2018-2020 period and orientation to 2025. In 2019, the Tien Giang province is expected to launch 23 new rural communes and 22 new rural communes will be launched by 2020. Especially, from now to 2020, the Tien Giang province has set the target of building new rural areas as follows such as: 100/144 communes to achieve the rate of 69.5%, which is recognized as national standard for rural construction new; ten new communes to be upgraded; three communes meet a new typical standard rural commune; two new rural districts districts as Cho Gao district and Go Cong Dong district; two district-level administrative units to complet the task of building new rural areas as My Tho city and Go Cong town.

It is expected that by 2025, the Tien Giang province will have 100% of new rural communes and 100% of district-level administrative units to reach new rural districts standards.

In order to achieve the objectives, the delegates discussed many solutions to remove difficulties in criteria of health insurance, environment, building infrastructure, political system and security order, self-assessment of the criteria, etc ... The proposals of the localities were explained by the concerned branches so that the support of each branch and the communes and districts to build new rural areas was effective.

According to the Steering Committee for the implementation of the national target program for rural development, it was necessary to promote production development, which was a key task throughout the program implementation in building new countryside. To speed up the implementation of agricultural restructuring aimed to increase added value and sustainable development.

Chairman of the PPC Le Van Huong said that: Localities have to change their thoughts and achievements in building new rural areas and building new rural areas because of farmers; the long-term preparation of the next year's target must be finalized from the previous year; the mechanism of rewarding classes of people in contributing to the fulfillment of criteria should be paid attention; the task of building new rural areas needs the determination of the local government in the implementation process of each locality, etc...
