Tien Giang province implements the high-tech rice production project
ABO – The Tien Giang province Department of Agriculture and Rural Development implemented the high-tech rice production project in the period of 2018-2020 and orientation to 2025 on August 15.

The project was approved by the Tien Giang provincial People's Committee in Decision No. 2125 dated August 8, 2018 and assigned to the Tien Giang province Department of Agriculture and Rural Development for implementation of high technology in rice production in order to increase productivity, quality and income increase for farmers compared to traditional rice production. In addition, the project will contribute to improving the competitiveness of the rice sector, adapting to climate change, protecting the environment and building the value chain of rice.
The project will be implemented in 2018 in 13 communes of Cai Be district, Cai Lay district, Go Cong Tay district and Go Cong Dong district with an area of 16 hectares; this area will increase to 780 hectares by 2019 and will increase to 2,300 hectares by 2020. The high-tech rice production will be managed according to the 4.0 technology, applying smart rice production methods and applying other technical advances such as high quality rice seeds, certification.
With investment infrastructure for the best production rice, the project will the development of information technology systems; to propagate and mobilize enterprises and cooperatives to participate in and effectively implement policies to support farmers and enterprises.
The total capital of the project is about VND 2.33 billion VND to achieve an average economic efficiency of VND 13.68 million /hectare/crop, contributing to promote the rice production in the Tien Giang province to develop according to the advanced, effective and sustainable agriculture.
