To promote cooperation between Tien Giang province and Long An province

ABO - On the afternoon of August 3, the Tien Giang provincial People's Committee worked with the Long An province People's Committee about the cooperation between the two provinces in a number of fields.

Over the past years, the Tien Giang and Long An provinces have cooperated in many fields such as transportation, agriculture, tourism, industry and trade. However, the result of cooperation were not much so it did not meet the requirements of socio-economic development of the two provinces.

Thus, to exploit the potential and advantages of the two provinces as well as to promote the socio-economic development in the direction of sustainability, many cooperation proposals were given at the meeting. It focused on many areas such as transport, tourism, agriculture, security and public order, etc…

The Chairman of the Long An provincial People's Committee Tran Van Can said that the economy of Long An province developed as the present has great contribution of the Tien Giang province.  He assigned the Department of Planning and Investment of two provinces as the focal point, advising the Provincial People's Committee to carry out the contents of cooperation.

Particularly in the field of agriculture, the Chairman of the Long An provincial People's Committee said that it is impossible for each province to have each way as now. The Department of Industry and Trade and Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of the two provinces need to consider a linkage on consumption product.

Speaking at the working session, Chairman of the Tien Giang provincial People's Committee Le Van Huong agreed with the opinions of Long An province and confirmed that Tien Giang province is ready to cooperate with Long An province to develop together.
