According to our record, high tide in the afternoon of October 10 has heavily submerged many places in the My Tho city.
Some sections of the road were submerged to the half of a wheel; particularly the National Highway No. 1 from Trung Luong to the junction with Highway 50 was deeply flooded. Vehicles transported difficultly.
According to the My Tho city Department of Economic, ward 2 and ward 10 were the deepest flood affected the traffic situation. The water level measured at the Bao Dinh river was higher than 0.6 m in comparison with the ground level.

Deputy Chairman of the My Tho city People’s Committee Nguyen Quang Thanh said that: Responsing to this high tide, the My Tho city has mobilized about 100 people including the army, police, etc... using sandbags to embank along the Bao Dinh river (a section from Bao Dinh drainage to Cau Doi bridge area) to prevent high tide.
On the morning of October 11, Chairman of the Chairman of the PPC Le Van Huong inspected the actual work of high tide response at the My Tho city.
To prevent floodwater in the future, the My Tho city has proposed the construction of a wall along the Bao Dinh River (the section 10 area). Accordingly, the project is about 4 km with the wall and sewers for canals.
