ABO - On October 22, the Executive Committee of the Tien Giang provincial Party Committee held a conference to sum up partially the implementation of the mid-term (2015-2020) Party Congress’s resolution.

From the beginning of the term, the Provincial Party Committee province has issued many resolutions, directives, program of action with focus, major point and reality. Most prominent was the effective implementation of Resolution No.10 of the Provincial Party Committee whereby Tien Giang province formed three urban economic zones including the central, eastern and western regions. In addition, Tien Giang province participated in the economic development of the Dong Thap Muoi sub-area and the East Coast, implementing the project on productivity and product quality improvement for small and medium enterprises in Tien Giang province by 2020, etc...

The good deploy and implementation of resolutions, directives and action programs, etc… were one of these factors to create the stage of socio-economic development in the mid-term as well as the term 2015-2020.

In economic field, Tien Giang province achieved some important results; the economic structure shifted in the right direction; business investment environment and the competitiveness of the province were improved.

The total investment capital of the whole society in three years was VND 87.557 trillion, reaching over 51% of the set target; the total revenue in 3 years was VND 22,770 billion, reaching 61.75% compared with the resolution; the export turnover got an average growth rate of 9.7% / year, the average retail turnover and social service turnover in the period 2016-2018 increased by 8.2% / year.

In the period 2016-2018, the number of enterprises in the province increased rapidly, reaching more than 50% of the target in the period 2016-2020. The poverty reduction program, new rural construction has been carried out synchronously and achieved many positive results. Tien Giang has 40/144 communes recognized as new rural standards. The work of defense and security work were maintained; political security, social order and security were ensured, etc…
