Tien Giang province's three communes recognised as new rural area

ABO - On November 22, the Tien Giang provincial Standing Steering Committee for National Targeted Program proclaimed three new rural commune including My Duc Dong commune of Cai Be district, Tan Binh Thanh commune of Cho Gao district and Phu An commune of Cai Lay district.

Implementing the national target program on building new rural areas, the average per capita income of My Duc Dong commune is over VND 41 million per person; the poverty rate drops to 2.6%. The total cost of construction of new rural areas is over VND  2,84 billion, of which enterprises and people contribute over VND 1367 billion; the rural transport infrastructure has been upgraded and built; agricultural economy shifted in the right direction, many models of growing fruit and fruit effectively promoted, etc…

Over the period of implementing the national target program on building new rural areas in Phu An commune, up to now, the average income per capita reaches VND 44 million, the rate of poor households is 2.4%, and the number of people employed is over 90%. The commune has mobilized nearly VND 240 billion for investing in the construction of infrastructure works, in which people contributed over VND 85 billion, etc…

After five years of building new rural areas, Tan Binh Thanh commune has completed 19 criteria. Highlights are electric system, roads, schools, stations built spacious, synchronous; the material and spiritual life of the people raised. The average income per capita reaches over VND 44 million/person/year; the percentage of people participate in health insurance reaches over 86%, etc…

On this occasion, the Tien Giang provincial People's Committee of Tien Giang awarded the emulation flag and welfare project worth VND 1 billion to each commune.
