With a garden of 5,000 m² contaminated often with alum and salty, Thang’s family decided to renovate the garden for growing fruit trees with stable economic effect.

Accordingly, his family changed direction to grow apples with yellow peach apple and sweet sour bar. Until now, his apple orchard was over three years old with about 200 trees.

He harvested three crops per a year with more than 100 kg per day, selling by the price of 25,000- 30,000 per kg.

Around the garden, Thang also planted about 50 cherry trees and 200 Siamese custard apple trees. Two kinds of fruits were now over three years old and started to harvest.

Thang said that the total income from fruit trees was about 100 million VND per a year.

Evaluating this model, Deputy Chairman of Binh Tan commune Farmers Association Nguyen Van Dieu said that: This is a model of changing the structure of plants and animals of Binh Tan commune in recent times bringing high efficiency economic.

Due to the characteristics of the land of Binh Tan commune, the choice of apple trees, Siamese custard apple, and cherry trees were very suitable for productivity and economic efficiency.

With the results obtained from the above models, Thang was elected as a good producer and trader in the commune on many consecutive years.
