Tien Giang exported 43 tons star apple in 2018

ABO - This year is the second year that Vietnamese star apple exported to the US market and up to now, Tien Giang province has exported 43 tons of a total expected raw material to reach 400 tons produced according to food hygiene and safety standards.

 

Since the beginning of December until now, 276 farmers in Cai Be, Cai Lay and Chau Thanh districts have participated in the star apple production program exported to the US market, reaching a peak harvest of 103 hectares verified and coded the source code area. In the production process, farmers strictly followed the regulations of the US Animal Health Agency, using pesticides, bio-pesticides, record production, especially implementation good fruit bagging.

In order to promote the star apple with high efficiency, Chairman of the Tien Giang provincial People's Committee Le Van Huong has repeatedly met with businesses and farmers participating in the program of linking star apple production to export to the US.

He listened to suggestions of enterprises on mechanisms, guidelines and policies and promptly removed difficulties for enterprises to better facilitate the process of purchasing Tien Giang star apple products for export to the US.

At the same time, he noted farmers' recommendations on policies to support the comprehensive restoration of star apple not only to have abundant raw materials and high quality of export but also to serve domestic consumption, increasing income for farmers.
