Tien Giang's exports surge in first eleven months

ABO – Tien Giang province recorded a trade surplus of 380.5 million USD in the first eleven months of 2018, with export turnover reaching nearly 269.4 million USD, up 5.5 percent from the same period last year, according to the Provincial People’s Committee.

The export turnover was estimated 269.4 million USD; accumulated value of 11 months was estimated 2.39 billion USD (5.5% over the same period). Key export items of the province in the first 11 months of 2018 were seafood (exported 102,683 tons); rice exports (exported 245,058 tons); garment (exported 73.5 million products), etc…

The import turnover of goods got 111.1 million USD, accumulated value of 11 months in 2018 was estimated nearly 1.3 billion USD, up 28.4% over the same period. Of which, the non-state economy imported 127.5 million USD, and the foreign-invested sector imported over 1.1 billion USD. According to the main business sectors, the manufacturing industry (accumulated value reached 1.26 billion USD, up 28.7% over the same period) and retail trade (cumulated value reached 5,2 million USD).
