Under contracts between businesses with Vietnam Airlines, green-skin grapefruit, which is provided on meals for flights, have to planted according to VietGAP process, fruit bags, using organic fertilizers and using biological drugs to prevent pests.
After harvesting, green-skin grapefruit must be preserved according to technical standards and ensure that products are not contaminated with microorganisms, insects, affecting the health of passengers, as well as indirectly affecting the fruit brand of Vietnam.
Tien Giang province currently has about 3,000 hectares of green-skin grapefruit on a total area of 4,800 hectares of grapefruit of all kinds.
The link with Tien Giang province to bring green green-skin grapefruit to the ration meal to serve passengers on flights of Vietnam Airlines is part of the program "Four seasons of fruit trees - Four seasons of love".
Through the program, Vietnam Airlines wishes to contribute to the consumption of agricultural products for farmers, and promote the brand of specialty fruits in Tien Giang province in particular and Vietnam in general with friends across the five continents.
