Focusing on implementing the development of three economic-urban areas

ABO – According to the Tien Giang provincial People’s Committee (PPC), the development of three economic-urban areas in the province has been focused from the beginning of this year.

* In the Central region: The relevant sectors continue to develop a strong vegetable industry in Chau Thanh District, dragon fruit growing area in Cho Gao District and monitor the situation of exporting star apple to the US market (exporting about 8 tons in month, accumulated 95.5 tons). The province evaluated the outline of three projects on the chain of production - consumption in the period of 2018-2020 and orientation to 2025 including black chicken eggs, quail eggs and dragon fruits.

* In the Western region: Supporting infrastructure investment for four cooperatives and carrying out procedures to support infrastructure investment for seven cooperatives in Cai Be District, Cai Lay District and Cai Lay Town; monitoring the implementation progress of the durian tree development project in Tien Giang province till 2025; implementing the project of rice production area applying high technology in the period of 2018-2020 and orientation to 2025. The province appraised the outline of durian production-consumption chain project in Tien Giang province the period 2018 - 2020 and the orientation to 2025; monitoring the situation of raising in catfish and fish farming areas.

*In the Eastern region: Continuing to implement the scheme on crop cutting, crop shift and crop structure in the eastern districts and the project of rice production area applying high technology in the period of 2018-2020 and orientation to 2025 ; developing and implementing environmental monitoring plan for concentrated aquaculture areas and oyster farming areas.
