Tien Giang province Fishing Port management board is managing and exploiting My Tho Fishing Port and Vam Lang Fishing Port. In the first quarter, the output of aquatic products through the port reached more than 11,500 tons, up 28% over the same period last year 2018; revenue reached more than 1.7 billion, up 18%.

Particularly, the Fishery Inspection and Control Representative Office has checked and confirmed that 1,204 vessels have docked and left the port, with a total output of nearly 21,100 tons. The biggest difficulty as the infrastructure of two fishing ports has not met the demand for organizations and individuals engaged in production and business activities. It is very difficult to arrange premises, vehicles to enter and leave the port for waiting for the goods to be imported; some ship owners and captains have not strictly complied with the implementation of the declaration in the logbook, etc...

The Tien Giang province Fishing Port management board proposes MARD to direct the Border Guards of two adjacent provinces to closely coordinate fisheries activities at adjacent locations; sharing data on fishing vessel data management and exploitation software system, fishing vessel cruise monitoring system for general use for provincial fishing port management boards, etc...

The delegation of the MARD examined the actual operation of My Tho Fishing Port, highly appreciating some activities on exploitation and state management, and reminding the management board to regularly clean the environment, limit odor; quickly coordinating with the Department of Fisheries to announce the opening of the port, closely examining the aquatic species and species exploited if detecting violations that need to be strictly handled. In addition, the delegation of MARD also noted the strengthening of propaganda of Fisheries Law to ship owners; continuing to improve and foster human resources to fulfill the assigned tasks well.
