Tourist to Tien Giang province increased 2% in April

ABO - According to the Tien Giang provincial People’s Committee, Tien Giang province welcomed more than 168.3 thousand tourists in April, increased 2% over the same period.

In the first four months of 2019, Tien Giang province welcomed 661.1 thousand tourists, reaching 31.5% of the plan, up 6.1% over the same period; in particular, foreign tourists reached 207.1 thousand visitors, increased 24.7% over the same period.

The revenue from accommodation, catering and travel services reached 2,174 billion VND, up 10.2% over the same period.

In the month, the industry has focused on building a plan to implement the project of tourism restructuring in Tien Giang province in 2019; the project of restructuring the tourism industry to meet the development requirements into a key economic sector in Tien Giang province; organizing surveys and assessing the potential and real situation of tourism development of the province in 2019; organizing inspection of travel business units, accommodation establishments in My Tho city.

Besides, the province also participated in the 8th Southern Folk Cakes Festival in Can Tho city and the Ho Chi Minh City tourism festival 2019.
