African swine fever: Controlling strictly from every way

ABO - On May 31, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Tien Giang provincal (PPC) Pham Anh Tuan and the Agriculture sector examined the terrestrial animal checkpoints and worked with local leaders on the prevention and control of African swine fever.

At the quarantine point, Vice Chairman of the PPC Pham Anh Tuan asked the officers at the checkpoints about the traffic of pig trucks through the station, the observance of the drivers transporting pigs, etc...

Working with local leaders, he asked the authorities of Cai Be and Cai Lay districts to strengthen more strict control from the road to the river in preventing sick pigs from entering Tien Giang province, especially the provinces of Vinh Long and Dong Thap (two localities infected African swine cholera); establishing additional quarantine points on the roads adjacent to Dong Thap province; coordinating with Tien Giang Police Department of Traffic Police to control and strictly handle the case of carrying pigs by means of waterway, unknown origin pigs entering Tien Giang province.

In addition, localities had to regularly check and handle aggressively cases of smuggled pigs, bringing pork products without quarantine to the market, etc...
