Tourist to Tien Giang province increased nearly 5.1% in the first five months

ABO - According to the Tien Giang province Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Tien Giang province welcomed more than 828.9 tourists in the first five months, increased 5.1% over the same period. In which, foreign tourists reached 262.6 thousand visitors, increased 5.5% over the same period.

Particularly, Tien Giang province welcomed more than 164.6 thousand tourists in May including 51.7 thousand foreign tourists, decreased 7.2% over the same period.

In the first five months, the revenue from accommodation, catering and travel services reached 2,703 billion VND, up 9.2% over the same period.

In May, the tourism sector focused on building a plan to implement the scheme "Restructuring the tourism industry to meet the development requirements into a spearhead economic sector in Tien Giang province"; recognizing Dien Lan Thon Trang as tourist destination; supporting Mekong Reststop to complete the application file for "The 2019 Vietnam Travel Award" and "The typical tourist destination of Cuu Long River Delta"; at the same time, attend training courses to develop tourism with community participation in Cai Be, Go Cong Dong and Tan Phuoc districts.
