Tien Giang province strives to export more than 4.7% for 2019

ABO - In the first half of 2019, Tien Giang province achieved an export turnover of 1.5 billion USD, an increase of 11.3% over the same period last year. In which, foreign investing sector accounted for 75% of the total export turnover, up 16.4% over the same period last year. The local is striving to export 3 billion USD in 2019, an increase of 4.7% compared to 2018.

In order to achieve the goal, Tien Giang province continues to promote propaganda on Vietnam's trade agreements; encouraging enterprises to seek and expand markets; forecasting domestic and foreign market information to disseminate and update enterprises community. The province pays attention to support enterprises to well implement the regulations on import and export management, monitoring and grasping the situation of activities at the import-export enterprises of the province to remove problems in time.

The province creates favorable conditions for businesses to promote trade, promoting products as well as investing in building material areas, expanding forms of association between producers and sources of raw materials to meet production demand, product quality improvement and export market dominance.

According to the assessment, in the first six months of 2019, the province's export commodity structure continues to ensure the orientation set out in the strategy of goods import and export in the period of 2011-2020 and orientation to 2030. Accounting for the proportion, the highest in the province's export structure is still industrial goods, accounting for 80%, up 9.1% over the same period in 2018.

Many key products have high export turnover: Copper pipes of all kinds reached turnover of 282.5 million USD; bags and plastic products reached 215.6 million USD, garments reached 210.8 million USD, etc... Tien Giang province's main export markets are Asia (accounting for 40%), America (37%), Europe (accounting for 19.5%), the rest as other areas.

It is forecasted that in the second half of the year, the situation of industrial production and goods export continues to grow, in which the foreign-invested sector is still an important factor to boost exports. In particular, key industrial products such as copper pipes, footwear, beer, garments, etc... will continue to have a strong growth trend due to the positive consumer market. In addition, the dynamism and responsiveness of enterprises in production - business and market dominance, market expansion to potential areas, etc... will be factors that help Tien Giang province to achieve its target of increasing main export in 2019 and the following years in a sustainable way.
