Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development highly appreciates the combating illegal fishing of Tien Giang

ABO - On September 25, the delegation of Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD), led by Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Phung Duc Tien, worked with the Tien Giang provincial People's Committee on the implementation situation of prevention of IUU and Decree 67/2014/ND-CP of the Government.

Speaking at the working session, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Phung Duc Tien highly appreciated the implementation against illegal, undeclared and unregulated fishing in Tien Giang province in recent years.

He emphasized that there is only last about 3 months when the European Commission (EC) will come to Vietnam to inspect and evaluate measures to overcome the "Golden Card" of the fisheries sector.

Therefore, Tien Giang needs high determination, synchronous implementation of solutions to quickly overcome existing problems, etc...

In the morning of the same day, the delegation of MARD inspected the field at the My Tho Fishing Port (Ward 2, My Tho City) to study the fishing situation.

The delegation checked the contents related to the management of fishing vessels entering and leaving ports, fishing vessel records; crew member directory book; fishing vessel registry; certificate of technical safety of fishing vessel, control of aquatic product production, certification of fishing origin; hygiene and safety on fishing ships, fishing ports, diplomas and certificates of owners of fishing means.
