Calling for investment in two waste treatment projects

ABO - Speaking at the conference on waste treatment in Tien Giang province, Chairman of the Tien Giang People's Committee (PPC) Le Van Huong acknowledged the investors' interest in waste treatment projects in the province.

Besides, comrade Le Van Huong also requested Cho Gao district and Go Cong Tay district to immediately implement the socialization of garbage collection so that by the end of this year to end the socialization of garbage collection throughout the province.

With regard to the existing landfills, localities try to handle on-site measures for the old amount of garbage; at the same time, the localities directly mobilize people and propagate for people in the surrounding landfills about the waste treatment plan.

The localities urgently request calculate how much land and funds to dispose of garbage at the existing landfill.

In addition, he also requested to continue bidding for the project of waste treatment plant at Tan Lap 1 landfill, Long Chanh solid waste treatment plant, etc...

According to the Department of Construction, there are currently 8 landfills operating in the province with actual receiving capacity of over 450 tons/day.

The amount of urban solid waste generated is about 350 tons/day, the collection volume is about 341 tons/day. Currently, the province is calling for investment in garbage treatment projects, including waste treatment plant at Tan Lap 1 landfill (Tan Phuoc district); Long Chanh solid waste treatment plant (Go Cong town).

At the conference, investors expressed their desire to participate in waste treatment projects in the province; at the same time, proposing to the PPC some issues such as: extending the project implementation time; giving policy to support waste treatment price when investing in Tan Phu Dong district, etc...
