ABO – On November 15, the Steering Committee of implementing the Resolution 10 of the Tien Giang provincial Party Committee on economic - urban development in three regions of Tien Giang province to 2020 and orientation to 2030 organized a conference to review the implementation of the Resolution 10 for the Western region.

The event saw an attendance of Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Le Van Huong, Chairman of the Steering Committee; Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly delegation of Tien Giang province Vo Van Binh, Deputy Head of the Steering Committee, etc…

After the implementation of the Resolution 10 of the Provincial Party Committee, the districts and towns of the Western region linked in socio-economic development and transport infrastructure; key projects and constructions in the area promoted efficiency, investment environment, administrative procedures, security and order, environment and social security issues were settled.

In 9 months of 2019, agricultural production activities in the region were relatively stable. Prices of some key fruits were maintained at high levels, creating excitement for farmers. Disease prevention was focused on implementation, especially control of African swine fever.

For industrial development and industrial parks and clusters, Long Giang Industrial Park (Tan Phuoc district) called for investment to fill and lease nearly 83% of the area; An Thanh industrial cluster (Cai Be district) came into operation, filling 100% of the area, attracting 34 projects with a total investment of over 240 billion VND, etc…

At the conference, leaders of Western districts, towns, some departments and branches of the province raised a number of advantages and difficulties in the process of implementing the Resolution 10; at the same time, proposing a number of issues to create conditions for economic development - urban economy, regional links, especially contents related to new rural construction, fruit tree production and development of industrial parks and clusters.

Speaking at the conference, comrade Le Van Huong suggested that it is also necessary to focus on socio-cultural development, taking care of people's lives and spirit in parallel with districts and towns in the region besides economic development, regarding the construction of transport works, districts and towns need specific planning, regarding clean water. Districts and towns need to review water quality and price of clean water supply points in the locality; proposing the Tien Giang Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to make a planning for fruit tree development, etc…
