According to the report, the situation of high salinity intrusion in the days after the Lunar New Year has made a great impact on daily life and agricultural production, especially rice and fruit production.

The highest salinity was measured in the morning of February 4 on Nam Thon river branch at Cay Duong ferry, Ngu Hiep commune, Cai Lay district up to 1.05 gam/litre. It is measured as 0.748 gam/litre at Thoi Loc ferry and as 0,362gam/litre at Long Quoi ferry.

Through checking, Chairman of the PPC Le Van Huong directed the locality to continue implementing the prevention of salinity.

The Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development in coordination with Cai Lay district People's Committee arrange officers to check salinity drought every day in order to promptly report to the PPC for solutions; at the same time, notifying farmers to serve production and daily life. In the long term, it is necessary to mobilize people to store fresh water to prevent the saline waves continuing to rise in the near future.
