Industrial production index in January decreases by 4.4 percent

ABO - In January 2020, Tien Giang's industrial production index decreased by 4.4 percent compared the previous month, down 5.5 percent compared the same period last year. The consumption index in January 2020 decreased by 6.7 percent compared the previous month and decreased by 20.6 percent  compared the same period.

In which, processing and manufacturing industry increased by 6.1 percent; production and distribution of electricity, gas, hot water, steam and air conditioning decreased by 2.1 percent; water supply, waste management and treatment decreased by 4.6 percent.

Many industries have high consumption index such as: beverage production (increasing by 4.49 percent; textile (increasing by 115.2 percent); costume production (increasing by 13.8 percent); medicine, pharmaceutical production and medicinal materials (increasing by 32.8 percent); production of rubber and plastic products (increasing by 4.6 percent); production of machinery and equipment not elsewhere classified (increasing by 49.2 percent),etc...

Besides, some industries wich consumption index decreased in comparison with the same period last year including food production and processing (decreasing by 36.6 percent); leather production (decreasing by 6.4 percent); wood processing and wood product manufacturing (decreasing by 17.4 percent); paper and paper products (decreasing by 34.1 percent); electrical equipment production (decreasing by 6.2 percent), etc...

It is expected that the index of industrial production in February 2020 will increase by 9.1 percent over the same period, an increase mainly in economic sectors with foreign investment and concentrated in a number of food processing and manufacturing industries. beverages, metal manufacturing.
