Tien Giang province welcomes 156.6 thousand tourists in February

ABO - According to the Tien Giang provincial People’s Committee, Tien Giang province welcomed more than 156.6 thousand tourists in February, down by 4.6 percent in comparison with the same period.

In the first two months of 202o, Tien Giang province welcomed 321.7 thousand tourists, reaching 14.6 percent of the plan, down 1.9 in comparison with the same period; in particular, foreign tourists reached 104.6 thousand visitors, reaching 11.6 percent in comparison with the same period.

The revenue from accommodation, catering and travel services reached 2,172 billion VND, up 7.1 percent over the same period.

In the month, the industry continued to complete the draft Resolution on policies to support tourism development in Tien Giang province in the period of 2020-2025; setting up the plan a survey program to study the experience of organizing community based tourism in Phu Yen province and Quang Nam province; strictly handling acts of law violations in the field of tourism such as stork bait, price listing, tourist solicitation, etc...

In March, the province will organized the second culture, sports and tourism festival to strengthen the state management and inspection of tourism; to promote the domestic and international tourism; to associate fostering tourism human resource development and participating in tourism activities and events in the country and the region.

It is expected to attract tourists in the first quarter of 2020 reached 476 thousand visitors, reaching 21.6 percent of the plan; including 154,000 international visitors, reaching 17.1 percent of the plan.
