Retail sales down 7.8 percent in February

ABO - According to Tien Giang People’s Committee, the total revenue from retail trade and services reached 5,232 billion VND in February, falling 7.8 percent in comparison with the previous month. The shopping needs of people on February decreased because this was the month after Tet Lunar Year. Most of commodity groups decreased compared to the previous month.

On the other hand, the corona virus disease outbreak from the end of January so far resonated the revenue impact in February. In the first two months, total retail sales of consumer goods and services implemented 10,837.2 billion VND, reaching 15.9 percent of the plan, up 9.8 percent over the same period.

The province accelerated the implementation of the Tan Lap 1 market and the quarter project, the My Tho night market project, which has been approved by the Provincial People's Committee for the auction of land use rights, currently preparing to issue the auction decision.
