The Van Don – Mong Cai Expressway has a total length of 80km which will help to shorten travelling time from Van Don to Mong Cai from two hours to just 50 minutes.
Upon its completion, the expressway will also shorten the travel time from Hanoi to Mong Cai to three hours, facilitating road traffic from Lang Son to Ha Long, Van Don and Mong Cai (Quang Ninh) as well as promoting the efficiency of Van Don International Airport.
Director of Quang Ninh Department of Transport Hoang Quang Hai said that the expressway will help to increase the connection between the Van Don economic zone and the outside, contributing to building Van Don into a multi-industry coastal economic zone and a gateway for international trade between Quang Ninh and China as well as ASEAN countries.
