Vietjet to equip new fleet with 24,000 modern seats

ABO/NDO- The Vietnamese budget airline Vietjet and France’s Safran Group signed a deal to supply more than 24,000 Z200 seats, for Vietjet’s economy class fleet of 120 aircraft 737 MAX.

The deal was inked at the Paris Air Show 2023 in the northern suburbs of Paris, France, on June 19.

The first aircraft are expected to be delivered to Thai Vietjet in mid-2024.

The Z200 is the latest in Safran Seats’ range for economy class on short and medium-haul. This new generation seat is one kg lighter than the previous generation and will greatly contribute to the airline’s long-term sustainable development goals, in reducing fuel costs and carbon emissions.

Vietjet prioritises choosing solutions to meet the connectivity needs of passengers on board. The new seats include a PED (portable electronic device) holder and a USB port, offering great comfort and durability.

The Paris Air Show is a major event in the world aviation industry for more than a century, taking place every two years at Le Bourget Airport, Paris.
