Vietnam to launch audits into key national projects in 2024
ABO/NDO- The State Audit Office of Vietnam is scheduled to conduct 21 audits on important national projects, such as the North-South Expressway and Long Thanh International Airport.
The plan was unveiled by Deputy Auditor General Doan Anh Tho in a report presented at a meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee on September 12.
The report said that the audit programme for 2024 will involve financial records of localities and ministries, as well as audits on some issues aligned with state budget management and those susceptible to corruption and wastefulness.

In regard to the state budget, audits are expected to be conducted on ten ministries and central agencies’ budget use and management and the settlement reports of 34 ministries and central agencies, and 61 localities.
The State Audit Office is also planning to perform audits on eight topics of major concern, including environmental protection, waste treatment, climate change combat, public passenger transport and preservation of relics and heritages.
In the field of construction, there will be 21 audits on important national projects, such as the North-South Expressway, Long Thanh International Airport, ring roads, coastal roads, hospitals and urban development.
The audit programme will also look into the finances of the State Bank of Vietnam, seven state-owned groups and corporations and five financial and baking organisations.
