In 2024, Tien Ngan expects to export 150 tonnes of pickled chillies to the East Asian country.
As such, Hoa Binh is planning to expand its chilli pepper cultivation area to 50 hectares, primarily in the districts of Luong Son, Lac Thuy and Kim Boi as well as Hoa Binh City.
Director of the Hoa Binh Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Huy Nhuan said the recent pickled chilly shipment is expected to boost the province’s key agricultural goods in the coming time.
In addition to traditional goods such as sugarcane, oranges, and pomelos, Hoa Binh Province is looking to export new agricultural products such as chilli peppers.
The province is encouraging key cultivation regions to invest in deep processing technologies and shift from exporting raw products to processed products so as to enhance productivity and added value.
