Vietnam's fruit export on track for 7.5 billion USD revenue

ABO/NDO- Vietnam’s fruit and vegetable exports brought in 6.34 billion USD in the first ten months of the year, up 31.5% over the same period last year, surpassing the 2023 record of 5.7 billion USD.

At the moment, Vietnamese exporters are working hard to take advantage of free trade agreements to boost commodity exports, including fruit and vegetables.

According to Dang Phuc Nguyen, Secretary-General of the Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association (Vinafruit), this year’s turnover will likely beat all expectations and reach 7.5 billion USD, up 1.8 billion USD from 2023.

Vinafruit data show that durian remained the largest earner, with over 3 billion USD in ten months, accounting for nearly half of the export revenue.

Other key fruit exports included banana, mango, dragonfruit and processed fruits.

China remained the largest importer of Vietnamese fruit and vegetables at 3.8 billion USD in nine months, up 38% over the same period in 2023.

Other markets such as Thailand, the US, the Republic of Korea and Japan also registered double-digit growth.
