Quang Ninh celebrates 20th anniversary of UNESCO recognition to Ha Long Bay
A number of activities are being staged in Quang Ninh province to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Ha Long Bay’s recognition as a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site (1994-2014).

A two-day programme opened on October 29 at the provincial museum, featuring songs and dances honouring Ha Long Bay’s beauty, an Ao Dai (Vietnamese traditional long dress) show, a royal gastronomy fest, and a display of embroidery pictures on the bay.
Photos capturing Vietnam’s world heritage sites and Ha Long Bay are on show at another exhibition that kicked off on October 30.
An international seminar seeking ways to preserve and promote Ha Long Bay and a seminar calling for businesses’ participation in upholding the site’s value are scheduled on November 1.
A ceremony marking the 20th anniversary of Ha Long Bay's UNESCO recognition will take place on November 1 at the 30-10 Square in Hong Hai district.
The 90-minute ceremony, to be broadcast live on Vietnam Television and Quang Ninh Television, aims to strengthen promotion of Ha Long Bay and raise awareness of heritage conservation among locals and tourists.
