Workshop discusses measures to promote Vietnamese culture and people
A national workshop seeking consultation from experts, managers and cultural activists to promote the Vietnamese culture and people in accordance with the requirements for the national sustainable development, was held in Hanoi on January 9.

Entitled 'Solutions to implement the Party's Solution No.33-NQ/TW on building and developing the Vietnamese culture and people to meet the requirements of national sustainable development', the workshop was jointly organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; the Party Central Committee's Commission for Communications and Education; Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Party Central Committee’s Theory Council and Nhan Dan newspaper.
Delegates heard nearly 30 presentations at the event, focusing on issues related to ideology, morality, lifestyle, the building of a healthy cultural environment, international cultural integration, promotion of Vietnamese culture abroad, and enhancing the quality of cultural products, literature and arts.
Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ho Anh Tuan said that the Party's Resolution No.33-NQ/TW issued at the ninth meeting of the 11th Party Central Executive Committee is an important document on Vietnamese culture and people, marking a significant development step in the critical thinking of the Party in building and developing Vietnamese culture and people to meet the requirements of sustainable development.
Professor, Dr. Dinh Xuan Dung, member of the Party Central Committee’s Theory Council said that to attain sustainable development, it is necessary to make culture become one of the four pillars of development in localities, ministries and sectors. He also recommended the establishment of a cultural industry imbued with specific Vietnamese characteristics.
Many others emphasised the importance of promoting the culture associated with people’s development, putting people at the centre of cultural improvement.
They also suggested enhancing the dissemination of the cultural identity of Vietnam to the world through diplomatic cultural activities and the Vietnamese community abroad.
