ASEAN music festival to be held in June

As many as 12 art troupes from ASEAN nations will gather in the central province of Thanh Hoa for the ASEAN Traditional Music Festival, to be held from June 1 to 6.

The festival is the result of a recent plan approved by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Each troupe will perform at an official show featuring that country's traditional musical art and will be no longer than 40 minutes. These troupes will also perform in other shows that will cater to local audiences. ASEAN artists will also hold exchanges at a workshop on traditional music.

The event will create a chance for ASEAN artists to share their experiences, strengthen relationships and enhance solidarity among the ASEAN members in the fields of arts and culture, organisers said.
