The fourth Coconut Festival launchs in Ben Tre province
On the evening of April 7, the fourth Coconut Festival was launched in the Ben Tre province. Politburo member, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc; Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh, head of the Steering Committee for the South West attended.

The fourth Coconut Festival has the theme “Vietnam’s coconut palm in integration and development”. The festival aims to introduce and promote Ben Tre’s coconut industry as well as to provide a forum for coconut farmers and enterprises to share experience and information on coconut growing, processing and consumption. The festival will take place from April 7 to April 13.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc evaluated that the festival’s organization, affirming that their practical activities to promote the cultural image as well as Ben Tre’s people to friends near and far, contributing to the development socioeconomic, enhancing the value of the coconut palm. Deputy Prime Minister also asked the ministries and central agencies jointly to support the development of the coconut industry, creating conditions for sustainable development of the coconut industry, contributing to socioeconomic development and improving people's life.
The event included an art space for installation of coconuts and coconut products, a cuisine festival, contests, a ceremony to honour coconut farmers and workshops relating to the industry’s development.
In addition, the festival also has many the scientific conference with a rich variety of useful topics: The role of credit for agricultural products exported in the Mekong Delta; Links and cooperation for sustainable coconut export industry; Tourism is responsible - Relationship and benefits.
