Photo exhibition on the homeland of Hoang Sa Flotilla opens

The Vietnamese Association of Photographic Artists co-ordinated with Quang Ngai provincial Literature and Arts Association to hold a photo exhibition on the land and people in the homeland of the Hoang Sa Flotilla in Ba To Park, Quang Ngai city.

The exhibition features 92 works by 43 photographers from 23 provinces and cities across the country. The works were photographed in Quang Ngai province from May 5-11.

The exhibition displays photographs taking on new perspectives of Quang Ngai province, according to Chairman of Quang Ngai provincial Literature and Arts Association, Le Van Son.

The photos, selected from 500 works, depict the landscapes, historical and cultural sites and the daily life of the people districts in Quang Ngai province, from Ly Son Island to mountainous districts such as Son Tay, Tra Bong, Ba To and Minh Long.

After the exhibition, the photos will be compiled in a photography book on the land and people in the homeland of the Hoang Sa Flotilla.

According to Vietnam’s feudal state history, the Hoang Sa Flotilla was established when the Nguyen Lords began their reign in the south of the country. Troops were sent to Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagoes throughout the past three centuries, since the time of the Nguyen Lords and through until the Tay Son and Nguyen dynasties. The Hoang Sa Flotilla was then assigned to control Bac Hai (Truong Sa).
