Over the past 15 years, the centre has constantly grown becoming a significant forum for intellectuals, scientists and artists passionate about Vietnamese traditional culture. It currently has hundreds of members as well as a number of subordinate units and representative offices.
Previously the centre has organised a large number of projects to preserve and promote traditional arts forms as well as seminars discussing ideas to raise public awareness on the importance of conserving national cultural values.
In addition to the promotion of national culture in the country, the centre has held numerous events to introduce traditional culture and arts to many foreign countries including the US, Japan, Germany.
Deputy PM Phuc noted that the national culture is facing numerous challenges under the process of industrialisation and modernisation of the country, therefore the centre needs to review its activities over recent years to devise orientations and practical activities to overcome any difficulties.
He also expressed his hope that the national centre for research, conservation and promotion of culture would enhance management and promote the creativity and strengths of each of its members to significantly contribute to building an advanced Vietnamese culture imbued with national identity.
