The exhibited pieces were selected for the final rounds of the 2010 photography and documentary film festival and the 2013 Photography and Documentary Film Festival on Environmental Protection and Climate Change in ASEAN, both were launched by the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC).

The works reflect the natural beauty, people and traditional culture of ASEAN nations as well as their combined efforts to protect the environment and fight against climate change.

A shared stamp and postmark that are currently being used throughout the ASEAN region are also on display at the exhibition.

Speaking at the opening of the event, MIC Deputy Minister Truong Minh Tuan said that the four-day exhibition aims to bring ASEAN nations together by introducing the culture, people and lifestyles of each nation to one another. It also aims to call on the Vietnamese people to work together in building an ASEAN Community of peace, stability and development, he added.

Permanent Vice Chairman of Quang Binh provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Xuan Quang said that it is an honour for the locality to host the exhibition, pledging that the local authorities will extensively promote the exhibition among its local population as well as its officers and soldiers in order to raise their knowledge and awareness of ASEAN countries.

The exhibition will run until July 17 at the Quang Binh provincial museum - Hung Vuong street, Dong Hoi city.
