According to report from Tien Giang Department of Culture - Sports and Tourism, the province's tourism operations have been invested to develop on many last year. The tourism business units under many different economic sectors developed rapidly in number, improving the quality of human resources in tourism; the participation of private invested in the field of accommodation, restaurant, tour operation bringing high efficiency, creating more jobs for labor, contributing to socio-economic’s development of local, etc…

The tourism of province has developed drastically in 3 areas such as Tan Thanh beach, Thoi Son island and Cai Be district. The park and tourist sites are renovated, upgraded and invested. The strength of ecotourism, hick countryside, cultural tourism are focused on exploiting, etc ... The tour has been designed diversity, basically meeting the needs of tourist’s visit, therefore tourists come to province increased significantly over many years. In the period 2010-2015, the number of tourists increased by an average 8.5 percent per year, and 1.5 million domestic and foreign tourists to Tien Giang in 2015.

At the same time, the province petitioned for continuing to be supported an capital from the national target program to develop tourism infrastructure and promotion of tourism in Tien Giang.

The members of the the delegation contributed some comments about measures to promote tourism development of the province in the future.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Hieu said that Tien Giang was rich in tourism potential. Although the economic situation of many last years were difficult, Tien Giang still attracted tourists more increasingly, this was the remarkable result. However, the province's tourism development was still not commensurated with the potential as well as inherent advantages; infrastructure for tourism was not invested synchronously; level ecotourism operations was not associated in historical - cultural and local potential.

Therefore, Tien Giang needed to focus investment in infrastructure for tourism service, not to invest spreading. Also, the province should develop proposals for tourism development to be invested by central and have mechanisms for tourism development to attract more investment as well as to make good promotion tourism.
