Exhibition highlights milestones of Vietnamese fine arts

A fine arts exhibition, themed ‘Vietnamese Fine Arts – Another Look’, officially kicked off at the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum in Hanoi on October 19.

The exhibition features more than 50 unique and valuable paintings created by well-known Vietnamese modern artists between 1940 and 1990 such as Bui Xuan Phai, Mai Trung Thu, Le Thi Luu, Le Pho, Vu Cao Dam and Thanh Chuong.

All photos are from the private collection of Nguyen Minh who is known as one of the most outstanding cultural and arts collectors in Vietnam.

The exhibits introduce visitors to people’s lives during the milestones in the history of the country.

Nguyen Minh’s modern Vietnamese painting collection includes more than 200 art works spanning various periods of Vietnam’s history including feudalism, resistance wars against the French and the US, and the subsidy and renovation periods.

In addition to collecting fine art works in the country, Nguyen Minh has acquired numerous invaluable paintings from international auctions.

The exhibition will last until October 23 and is expected to attract a large number of painters as well as fine art lovers in Hanoi.
