Entitled ‘Vietnam’s Hoang Sa and Truong Sa - Historical Evidence’, the exhibition introduces many documents, publications, artifacts and nearly 100 maps gathered from the resources of researchers and scholars in the country and from abroad, all of which affirm Vietnam’s sovereignty over Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos.

The highlight of the exhibition is the display of a number of royal documents formulated by Vietnamese feudal regimes from the 17th to early 20th centuries. Prominent among them is a collection of Nguyen dynasty administrative documents and maps, announced by Vietnam, Western countries and China, recognising the fact.

According to Nguyen Thanh Hung, Deputy Minister of Information and Communication, the historical evidence gathered from the resources of researchers and scholars in the country and from abroad, including Western countries and China, contribute to affirming Vietnam’s sacred and inviolable sovereignty over Truong Sa and Hoang Sa archipelagoes.

The event offers an opportunity to raise the awareness, solidarity and responsibility of Vietnamese people, especially the youth, to protect and affirm Vietnam’s sovereignty, he said.

The exhibition runs until October 20.

Dien Bien province plans to organise other exhibitions on Vietnam’s sea and islands in districts and towns in the province after concluding the exhibition.
